About a little boy being modelled by a misogynistic household and environment. And a mothers effort to make him and learned that misogyny. Co-written by Annukampa Harsh and Shashank Vyas. Directed by the latter, The film is a powerful study on the effects of patriarchy on children and offers a heart-wrenching peek into the life of a woman standing at the centre of the circumstances.
2. ADI SONAL
Written and directed by Heena D’Souza, Adi Sonal takes us into our Sindhi household and offers a contemporary take on folklore narrated during the festival of Teej. With an excellent performance from the whole cast, which includes Neena Gupta, Trimala Adhikari and Lalita Behl, Adi Sonal is a searing portrait of misogyny in everyday rituals of middle-class Indians. And a fresh perspective on the relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.

Directed by Gaurav Mehra. Guddu attends a fresh spin on the familiar Story of a bride it is one of the Five Excellent Films. Being married against her wishes and deciding to elope from her own wedding. The titular character is played by Anurita Jha. Who succeeds in bringing a mix of tenderness, vulnerability and fierceness that this film requires. 4. TEA AND A ROSE
Lockdown the film is a difficult genre to crack, secondly since there have been so many of them now. But director Indrani Ray seems to have perfected it, bringing unmatched loveliness and warmth in the lockdown trilogy, which Natasha Rastogi and Adil Hussain starrer Tea And A Rose is my favourite. It’s also the cutest short film I have seen in a long time. Oddly reminiscent of Satyajit Ray‘s Charulata. The film follows a woman visiting an old friend At her house during the lockdown.
5. DINNER IN LOCKDOWN
Another friend from the lockdown series by Indrani Ray that I really light. This powerful drama starring Shibani Dandekar and Shekhar Ravjiani follows an evening in the life of a rich, urban married couple. Their conversations and events in their house that precede a romantic dinner. Ray manages to tell a hand hitting and moving story in a very short span, perfectly supported by the performance of the two leads.
